This year has been tremendously successful for the film faternity and the latest addition to the ladder of this success is Batch No.16. When the teaser was first shown on television, it left the audience confused, whether it was a real good movie or just nothing but the old crap. But there is no need to wonder now, cause the movie is here and it is as good as the teaser promised it to be.

Directed by Pitamber Pandey,a debutant in this profession has done justice to the story. He may have failed to show his talent in many parts but overall he has done a wonderful job. Many have high expectations from him in the future and hopefully, we will see more of his work. In the lead role are Arpan Thapa, Pradip Bhardwaj, Purusottam Pradhan and Reenasha Rai. The story is about two childhood friends, Guru and Ram, who end up working in APF’s batch no 16.

Their batch is assigned a mission to catch an international gang of Hakim, who is planning bomb blasts. Ram and Guru succeed in the mission but the story plot takes a turn when the two friends get engaged in a conflict between themselves. One of them wants to kill Hakim and share 10 crore that they have discovered along with Hakim. The story develops further more from there on. To find out who the traitor is, you will have to watch the movie for yourself. But all I can say is, it is a movie worth a watch.

The dialogues are very realistic and the actors have done good with their roles. Arpan has done a fabulous work. He is the major attraction for many and have proved himself as a worthy actor. He may not be an ace but we hope to see a lot more and a lot better from him. He is a keeper and that is for sure. The effort made by the entire team is evident.

On the whole, it is a good watch with a simple story. It could have been even more better but for the standard that is usual, this film has out done them.

Before release, kasam hajur was able to grab a lot of attention regarding the use of Red One Digital 2K camera. They surely did use the new tech camera but failed to put in some brains for sure. The movie is nothing but a brainless attempt to mix two Bollywood movies and earn some money. The film makers may differ to the fact that it is the same old blending-two- Hindi-movies shameful trick, but everyone will agree that it is brainless.

It is understandable that there is lack of stories around here and that remaking is ‘in’, but this has smashed this trend too. The storyline is crap, the presentation pathetic and loopholes everywhere. Directed by Ram Raja Dahal, produced by Krishna Chaulagai, Kasam Hajur Ko has failed to fulfill it’s promise to give something new to the audience. It has failed miserably, flat on the face.
With Rekha Thapa, Jivan Luitel, Richa Ghimire and Raj Ballav in the lead, along with veterans such as Mithila Sharma and Rabi Giri, this work has proved that high tech needs brains to use it and good actors need professional guidance for a it to be successful. Raj Ballav, otherwise known as a promising new actor and Jivan who have proven his authenticity many times before, and successful actress like Rekha Thapa and Richa Ghimire werent enough to save this sinking ship.

What is extremely depressing as well as funny in a way is the story and it’s presentation. The story revolves around three college students; Amar, Shristi and Jivan. Amar loves Shristi and so does Jivan. Lucky for Jivan, Shristi feels for him too. There is an unnecessary villian Kamal, who wants Shristi at any cost. As the drama continues, Jivan finds out that he is going to die soon of some undeclared (or maybe I dozed off!!) disease. It reminds highly of Kal Ho Na Ho, but the story doesn’t moves like the Bollywood blockbuster. Jivan again falls for Kanchan, a spoilt rich girl(god knows why). This breaks Shristi’s heart and she gets close to Amar. Jivan tells he cant marry either of the girls and Kanchan suicides. The punchline is that, when a girl is dead and the lives of the three is a whirlwind, it is revealed that the doctor got it all wrong. It was actually Amar who is going to die.

The movie ends with Amar dead, Jivan and Shristi living happily ever after, a girl dead and a villain whose whereabouts is unknown. A love story turned surprisingly tragic and finally some unintended laughter, it is nothing but worthless trash.
