let us look at the evergreen blockbuster Nepali movie of all time. Kusume Rumal, Balidan, Basudev, Prem Pinda, and Darpan Chaaya are the movies that have been very much liked by the audience.
First, Kusume Rumal, directed by Tulsi Ghimire is a triangular love story. The film has Bhuwan K.C., Tripti Naadkar, and Udit Narayan Jha playing the lead roles. The film does not have a new plot line but it does have innocence to it. The music is absolutely beautiful with the music composition by Ranjit Gajmer.
Balidan is also directed by Tulsi Ghimire and is one of the few off-beats in history. The film has an overpowering star cast, The main lead is played by Hari Bansha Acharya, whose performance as a revolutionary is more than commendable.
Basudev is another one directed by Neer Shah and is based on a novel by Dhruba Chandra Gautam. The flick portrays the troubles of a highly ethical man played by Harihar Sharma who conflicts with his immoral friend acted by Neer Shah. The movie also has great songs and is one of the more realistic films made in Nepal.
Prem Pinda is directed by Yadav Kharel and portrays the aristocratic life in Nepal during the Rana regime. The film has Neer Shah, Saroj Khanal, and Soni Rauniyar as the main leads. The movie is a different take on eternal love and love in general.
Darpan Chaya, once again directed by Tulsi Ghimire is a triangular love cum friendship story. Dilip Rayamajhi, Niruta Singh, and Uttam Pradhan are the leading actors. The flick explores love and life on the verge of death due to a chronic illness.
